1. WHAT IS EASY BAR® KILN LUBE?
EASY BAR® KILN LUBE is a solid high-temperature lubricant bar that melts when placed on the hot surface of a kiln shell. EASY BAR®’s patented blend of mineral and metal lubricants are suspended in a solid polymer binder that melts at approximately 125° F or 52° C.
When placed between the tire bore and kiln shell, the binder begins to melt and releases the lubricants in EASY BAR®. The rolling action of the kiln distributes the lubricants precisely to the areas it is needed.
Unique to EASY BAR® from other melting lube bars is its high-temperature auto ignition point. EASY BAR® will not ignite at temperatures less than 1,000° F or 538° C. Therefore it is safe for high temperature applications such as kilns.

2. HOW DOES EASY BAR® WORK?
EASY BAR® employs principles of lubricity and physics to assure proper lubrication of kiln and dryer tires. First, it contains high quality, non-petroleum, synthetic lubricants. It also contains a fine metal powder that exploits the lubricating benefit of dissimilar metals.
Once melted, uses the motion of the kiln to distribute its lubricants to the mating surfaces of the tire bore and kiln shell. As the lubricants are distributed by the motion of the kiln, a thin, temperature resistant film forms a lubricating barrier between the moving surfaces, as well as fills the microscopic imperfections that are typical on metal surfaces.

5. HOW IS EASY BAR® INSTALLED?
Before EASY BAR® is inserted, the kiln should be at operating temperature. Once the kiln is at operating temperature, manually place one bar every ¼ revolution between filler bars or pads at the 5 or 7 o’clock positions. Application should be made on the “uphill” side flush with the tire or riding ring for proper lubrication.
